"The truth behind Babylon A.D."

Maybe you remember all the talking about Fox cutting the movie from 2 hrs and 40 down to 90 minutes. After that you, just a couple of days later, you could read an official statement saying that it would be a mistake, no the movie was never considered to be that long. Everything a big bad misunderstanding. Huh?, you may have wondered but after the official comments you believed them. Not a single word was true! The officials wanted you to believe everything was cool.

Now after the movie Babylon A.D. had its world premiere you deserve some truth.

And the truth is: yes the movie was slaughtered. Yes, the studio bosses and producers were hard to digest and they did everything to ruin the work of director Matthieu Kassovitz. The vision of Maurice G. Dantecs book to get a high class adaption with this film failed once more because of peoples rules, you as a filmmaker, have to follow. I feel sorry and desperate about the movie and the director and all those wonderful actors putting all their efforts into that movie.

Matthieu Kassovitz himself sais: " I'm very unhappy with the film, I never had a chance to do one scene the way it was written or the way I wanted it to be. The script wasn't respected. Bad producers, bad partners, it was a terrible experience. Fox was just trying to get a PG-13 movie. I'm ready to go to war against them, but I can't because they don't give a shit."

So there's not much left beside stupidity and violence AND the great visual genius of the director.

Fox not even giving a damn about the promo for the movie including far too little press appearence by Vin Diesel.

Sad sad experience for all of us... but still - show some loyalty to your actors and filmmakers who cared for this film - GO TO SEE IT IN THEATRE!
